TUCSON, AZ (AZFamily) — Several people are seriously hurt after a shooting involving police in downtown Tucson early Sunday morning.

Authorities said the shooting happened at Empire Pizza near 6th Avenue and Congress Street, according to crews with Arizona’s Family sister station KOLD on the scene.
Details remain limited, but officials said multiple victims and the suspect were taken to a hospital with critical injuries.
It is not yet clear whether any officers were injured or how many people were shot.
Police say 6th Avenue is closed between Pennington Street and Broadway Boulevard, while Congress Street is closed between Scott and Toole avenues.

Drivers are urged to avoid the scene as the investigation continues.
This is the 10th officer-involved shooting in the Tucson area that Arizona’s Family has reported on this year and the 52nd statewide.
It comes after two officer-involved shootings were reported Saturday in the Valley. One involved Chandler police at a Tempe apartment complex, and another involved Mesa police and a homicide suspect.
