TUCSON, Ariz. (13 News) – The Tucson Police Department has identified the victim in a fatal motorcycle crash on July 18.

The TPD said just after midnight, officers responded to reports of a crash involving a vehicle and a motorcycle at the intersection of East Speedway Boulevard and North Richey Boulevard.
Officers determined that a car travelling westbound on Speedway Boulevard was attempting to make a left turn when it was struck by a motorcycle.
The driver of the motorcycle, identified as 19-year-old Jaycob Christopher Nieto, was transported to the hospital, where he later died.

Detectives determined the car’s failure to yield while making a left turn and Nieto’s speed were the primary factors in the crash.
The investigation remains ongoing.
