TUCSON, Ariz. (13 News) – Pima County has confirmed to 13News that they are investigating a confirmed case of measles in Pima County involving a Tucson resident.

While PCHD has also confirmed the overall overall risk to the general public remains low, they are asking residents who were at the below listed places during the specified dates and times, to watch for symptoms for an extended period of time.

PCHD will be contacting individuals who may have been exposed, from a “520-724” phone number.

The Tucson resident at the center of the investigation individual is fully vaccinated and developed symptoms after returning to Arizona from international travel. The individual is not hospitalized, but is isolating and recovering at home.
Here are the symptoms to watch out for 7-14 days after exposure:
- Fever
- Cough
- Runny nose
- Red, watery eyes
- A rash that usually begins on the face and spreads downward
MMR vaccinations are available at all Pima County Health Department clinics, regardless of insurance status. Clinic hours and locations are available on the Health Department’s website.
