Man in custody after girlfriend shot dead at Peoria mobile home park

PEORIA, AZ (AZFamily) — A woman is dead and her boyfriend is in custody after a shooting at a Peoria mobile home park Thursday evening.

The shooting happened around 6:30 p.m. on Olive Avenue near 69th Avenue.

When first responders arrived, they found a woman had been shot multiple times. She was taken to a hospital with life-threatening injuries and later pronounced dead, Peoria officials said.

Police said the woman’s boyfriend admitted to shooting his girlfriend after an argument. The man surrendered when officers arrived.

The victim’s and suspect’s identities were not immediately released.

This is still an active investigation, and police said there is no threat to the public.
