TUCSON, Ariz. (13 News) – The Tucson Unified School District Transportation Department is looking to hire new bus drivers.

A hiring event is Wednesday, July 15, 2026 for both CDL and non-CDL drivers.
The district’s CDL training program includes classroom instruction designed to prepare new trainees for permit testing and successful entry into the licensing process.

- Permit test preparation

- Training Duration: 4–6 weeks
Training Rate: $17.00 per hour
Non-CDL Driver: Starting at $18.60 per hour
CDL Driver: Starting at $22.18 per hour
The event runs from 8:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at Central Transportation, which is located at 550 South Norris Avenue, Bldg. D.
