PHOENIX (AZFamily) — A man involved in a crash on a Phoenix freeway off-ramp early Thursday morning was killed after he then reportedly ran into traffic.

The initial car crash happened around 4:30 a.m. along the westbound Interstate 10 off-ramp at 67th Avenue. According to the Arizona Department of Public Safety, a man involved in the crash then got out of his car and ran into the westbound lanes of I-10.
Moments later, he was hit by two vehicles and pronounced dead at the scene. Both drivers remained at the scene.
One of the drivers involved told troopers that the man intentionally jumped in front of his car as he was braking. He was then hit by the second vehicle.
Arizona Department of Transportation cameras captured video of the man running on the freeway moments before his death.

His name has not been released.
The deadly crash closed some I-10 westbound lanes, leading to heavy traffic and delays during Thursday’s morning rush hour.
