Authorities in the Samut Prakan province of Thailand responded to a call of a man acting erratically on July 7 at a luxury rental property, Bangkok Post reported.

When police arrived, Murphy jumped into a nearby lake and swam for several minutes before he appeared exhausted and drowned.

Police say Murphy’s body was recovered 20 meters from shore. Investigators also reportedly found two unused syringes and several white pills inside a bag in his vehicle.

Murphy and his 22-year-old girlfriend had booked the luxury rental property for three months. Police reportedly discovered that much of the property had been vandalized with black and yellow paint, which Murphy’s girlfriend told authorities happened overnight while she was asleep.
