TUCSON, Ariz. (13 News) – As we head into the workweek, the hottest temperatures so far of 2026 lie ahead. Tuesday and Wednesday are expected to be the hottest days with highs in Tucson at 109°. That has resulted in an Extreme Heat Warning for some of Southern Arizona. All of Cochise County and Santa Cruz County are outside of that warning. The warning is in effect from 10am on Tuesday through 8pm on Wednesday. First Alert Weather Days for Tuesday & Wednesday. Temperatures start to drop after Wednesday, but will still remain above normal.

Heat increases in the coming week but so does moisture. Precipitation chances enter the forecast tomorrow east of Tucson, for areas of Cochise, Graham, and Greenlee. Moisture starts to creep westward after that bringing low rain chances into Tucson for Tuesday and Wednesday. Better chances Thursday, Friday, and into the weekend. This moisture will bring rain and thunderstorms. The concerns are gusty winds 40-50+ mph that could result in blowing dust. After Wednesday, moisture becomes more abundant so the threat late week and weekend will be flooding and flash flooding concerns.
