Pair accused of dismembering a body after arm found floating in lake

LAKE MATTOON, Ill. (WIFR/Gray News) – Illinois State Police arrested two suspects as part of a death investigation after human remains were found in Lake Mattoon.

James Adams, 26, and Robin Turner, 62, were charged with concealment of a homicide and dismembering a human body.

On June 28, boaters found part of a human arm in Lake Mattoon.

Investigators searched the lake where they said more human remains were found. Following the investigation, police identified the body as Dalewayne Turner, 38, of Plainfield.

Special agents identified Adams and Turner as suspects.

The pair was taken into custody on July 1 after searching a home in Plainfield. Officers said more evidence was discovered.

Charges were filed the next day, but officers said they expected more charges in the case.
