SAFE Alert issued as Chandler woman vanishes from group home

CHANDLER, AZ (AZFamily) — Authorities are asking the public for help finding a woman who was reported missing from a group home in the East Valley.

The Arizona Department of Public Safety (DPS) issued a SAFE Alert on Friday for 73-year-old Mary Williams after she was reported missing to Chandler Police.

Williams was reportedly last seen around 5:30 a.m. Friday, near Queen Creek and Alma School roads, after walking away from a group home.

She is described as a Black woman who is 5 feet 9 inches tall and weighs 165 pounds. DPS said she was wearing a blonde wig and has brown eyes. Her clothing at the time she went missing is unknown.

Authorities said Williams suffers from a medical condition that may cause her to become lost or be easily confused.

Anyone who sees Williams is asked to call 911.
