Two injured in incident at old Holidome Inn Hotel in Tucson

TUCSON, Ariz. (13 News) – Two people were injured in an incident at an affordable housing complex in Pima County on Thursday, May 14.

The Pima County Sheriff’s Department said it happened at a residence in the 4500 block of South Palo Verde around 6:30 p.m.

The PCSD said there was an incident between two people, and at least two people were taken to the hospital with injuries.

The case is under investigation, and there is no threat to the public, according to the PCSD.

According to a 13 News photographer, it happened at the Center of Hope Apartments, which is run by La Frontera and is located at 4554 South Palo Verde Road. To many in Tucson, it is known as the now-closed Holidome Inn Hotel.

The incident happened near, but not at, the Gospel Rescue Mission Center of Opportunity.

“We understand that the site is secured and the Pima County Sheriff is on scene,” said Lisa Chastain with the Gospel Rescue Mission. “We are praying for all involved, and we are there to assist in any way we can.”

The Center of Hope Apartments opened in 2022 and is a rehabilitation and conversion facility. According to several websites, the facility offers 100 affordable units for homeless people.
