TUCSON, Ariz. (13 News) – FAWD again today, due to the Extreme Heat Warning for Tucson and surrounding areas. This has been extended to cover Thursday as well. However, this heat spike isn’t as clean as they tend to be. Scattered clouds with a spotty shower possible today, even for Tucson and Pima county. The bulk of the action is in Cochise County and shooting up to Graham and Greenlee counties. Most of the impact from these micro showers will be blowing sand and dust due to outflows from virga showers.

By the weekend, a synoptic system changes the game. Cleans out our air, dries us out and pushes winds. On the lookout for possible Red Flag Warnings to be issued if they meet the criteria. Thursday Night – Mostly clear, with a low around 78. West wind 11 to 16 mph becoming light and variable.
Friday – Sunny and hot, with a high near 107. South southeast wind 5 to 10 mph becoming west southwest 12 to 17 mph in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 28 mph.
