On Monday, June 22, David Anthony Cedeno pleaded guilty to two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and one count of evidence tampering. He is set to be sentenced on Aug. 3.

The 30-year-old Cedeno had been facing five counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, two counts of aggravated assault with serious injury, one count of drive-by shooting, one count of discharging a firearm within the city limits, and one count of discharging a firearm at an occupied structure

The evidence tampering charge comes because Cedeno went home after the shooting and tried to alter his vehicle, allegedly to try to hide it from police.

The Tucson Police Department said Cedeno fired several shots during the road rage incident near Golf Links and Kolb around 9:30 a.m. March 12.

The TPD said two teen girls were shot, but their injuries were not life-threatening.

Cedeno was quickly identified as the suspect, and he was taken into custody.

13 News was told both victims were students at nearby Palo Verde Magnet High, but the Tucson Unified School District was unable to confirm.

“Palo Verde Magnet High School and TUSD administration have been notified of an off-campus incident,” the district told 13 News at the time. “Our primary focus is the safety and privacy of all individuals. Please refer all questions to the Tucson Police Department.”
