Earlier this week, the fire department shared the story of a Glendale woman who saved a young girl last year, after the girl nearly drowned.

In December, the Glendale woman “saw a family in need and took action,” the department said in its Facebook post. The woman performed CPR on the child who had drowned until emergency crews arrived.

Glendale Fire credited the woman’s “quick-thinking, courage and willingness to help” with saving the young girl’s life.

“Stories like this remind us that anyone can make a difference when every second counts,” the fire department wrote.
