SAN CARLOS, AZ (AZFamily) — One person has been arrested after a teen girl was shot and killed at a park on the San Carlos Apache Indian Reservation, according to officials.

Police say the girl was shot around 11 p.m. at Belvado Park in the community of San Carlos, located east of Globe, on June 13. She was pronounced dead two days later.
The suspect is under 18 and has not been identified.
“Our officers and investigators are working around the clock to identify and apprehend any additional individuals involved in this senseless act of violence,” said San Carlos Apache Police Chief Elliot Sneezy. “Our thoughts and prayers are with the victim’s family and loved ones during this incredibly difficult time. We are committed to ensuring that all those responsible are held accountable.”
Authorities are urging anyone who was at the park at the time of the shooting to contact the police department at (928) 475-1700. Anonymous tips can also be submitted through the department’s Tip411.
