Tucson man acquitted in Sahuarita murder investigation

TUCSON, Ariz. (13 News) – The Tucson man on trial for a 2024 murder in Sahuarita, has been found not guilty.

An official with the Pima County Superior Court says Douglas Gauf was acquitted by a jury Thursday, June 11.

Sahuarita Police say 51-year-old Terry Parker was shot and killed inside his home in the 300 block of East Calle Minerva, which is near Interstate 19 and South Nogales Highway, in May 2024.

According to the interim complaint, Gauf and Parker reconnected after several years of losing contact. The document states the pair started frequenting local bars in Tucson.

The document states a missing firearm from Parker’s residence was located in a stand-alone carport of the Tucson home connected to Gauf. The document states the firearm was processed and was found to have blood on it.
