Geno Ploeger will be featured in the second episode of America’s Got Talent Season 21, which airs on Tuesday night. Ploeger says he’s wanted to perform on the show since he was 10 years old, when he watched magician Matt Franco win season nine of the competition.
“I watched him years ago, and ever since I watched him, I was like, ‘okay, that’s what I want to do,’” he explained.
The magician said the experience was surreal, particularly seeing the America’s Got Talent banners and signage at the theater in Hollywood.
“I saw the banners hanging down you see on TV. I was like, ‘wow, this is like what I see on TV. This is real,’” he said.

Ploeger, a former Arizona State University student, said he focuses on storytelling in his magic performances.
“I think magic connects with people when you tell stories,” he said.
