PHOENIX (AZFamily) — Arizona lottery players soon have a chance at a bigger bag as the state lottery celebrates its anniversary.

The Arizona Lottery increased the jackpot for The Pick by an additional $4.5 million to commemorate its 45th anniversary, officials announced Tuesday.
The drawing with the increased jackpot is set for June 17. It represents the largest jackpot upgrade since Arizona’s flagship lottery game began in 1984.
“For 45 years, Arizona Lottery players have been at the heart of our mission,” said Alec Thomson, Executive Director of the Arizona Lottery. “This $4.5 million jackpot boost is our way of saying thank you and offer players a chance to celebrate 45 years of investing in a stronger Arizona. The Pick has been a favorite for generations of Arizonans, and adding to the jackpot is a fitting way to mark this milestone and get players excited about the updated game.”
The state lottery recently announced upgrades to Draw Games with better odds and more frequent drawings. The following upgrades launch on June 14:

- Addition of a built-in multiplier and The Pick Plus for The Pick
- A midday drawing for Pick 3
- The launch of Pick 4
- Addition of Powerball Double Play
The Pick was upgraded with improved overall odds of 1 in 30, as well as a built-in multiplier of up to 5X for non-jackpot prizes for just $2 per play. The Pick Plus gives players an optional $1 add-on played separately from the normal drawing for The Pick.
