Troopers: Driver going 110 mph on I-10 had BAC twice the legal limit

PHOENIX (AZFamily) — A driver who admitted to going 110 mph was arrested for driving under the influence, and it was not their first DUI-related run-in with law enforcement.

On Sunday, an Arizona Department of Public Safety trooper saw a driver going over 100 mph on Interstate 10. The driver was weaving in and out of traffic and almost caused multiple crashes, according to the Arizona Department of Public Safety.

When the driver was pulled over, they admitted to going 110 mph and consuming alcohol before driving, according to the Arizona Department of Public Safety. The driver also had bloodshot, watery eyes and failed a field sobriety test.

A breath test showed a blood-alcohol content of 0.161, officials said. The driver had a suspended license because of a previous DUI-related case.

The driver was arrested and booked into the Maricopa County Jail.
