According to the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), the recall is for Vornado Small Room Tower Heaters.
They were sold online on Amazon and Vornado’s website. They were also sold at retailers including Kohl’s, Ace Hardware and Bed Bath & Beyond.
The heaters were sold from August 2013 through May 2026 for between $40 and $50.
They are about 12 inches tall and the model number “TYPE SRTH” is printed on the bottom.

According to the CPSC, the heater’s fan blade can detach from the motor shaft, leading to overheating and melting of internal parts. Those parts can ignite, posing a fire hazard.
So far, there have been more than 30 reports of overheating, including eight reports of fires.
If you own one of these heaters, stop using it. Visit Vornado’s website for instructions on how to receive a refund.
