PHOENIX (AZFamily) — A hiker is dead after falling at a South Mountain trail in Phoenix on Friday afternoon.

Technical rescue crews were called out to South Mountain’s Mormon Trail shortly before 1 p.m. A spokesperson with Phoenix Fire told Arizona’s Family that the man fell 40 feet and sustained multiple injuries.
Rescuers used the Phoenix police helicopter to hoist the hiker off the mountain. Once off the mountain, he was rushed to the hospital, where he later died.
Police said they do not suspect foul play.
All firefighters safely made it off the mountain, and no additional injuries were reported.
