Las Vegas driver arrested on DUI charges after hitting, killing pedestrian in southwest valley

LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — A pedestrian is dead after a crash Thursday night, Las Vegas police say.

Officials with the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department said the crash happened just after 9:30 p.m. at South Decatur Boulevard and Spring Mountain Road. Police said a pedestrian has died at the scene.

According to LVMPD, a 2013 Toyota RAV4 was traveling southbound on Decatur Boulevard in the left travel lane. A 35-year-old man was crossing Decatur Boulevard from west to east outside of a marked or implied crosswalk. The front of the Toyota collided with the pedestrian as he crossed the vehicle’s path of travel. The pedestrian was projected forward onto the roadway and was run over by the Toyota, according to police.

Medical personnel performed life-saving measures on the man, before he was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the Toyota, 27-year-old Victoria Truong of Las Vegas, remained at the collision scene and displayed signs of impairment. Truong was arrested for DUI-related charges, police say.

The pedestrian’s death marked the 49th traffic-related fatality in the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department’s jurisdiction for 2026.

An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
