LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — Las Vegas police are investigating after a man was shot in the head during a fight at a business on Boulder Highway.

Officers with the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department responded a report of a shooting in the area of 4855 Boulder Highway, near Flamingo and Nellis, around 1:14 a.m. A later report indicated a man had been shot in the head and was bleeding profusely, police say.

Officers located the victim with a gunshot wound to the head. The man was transported to an area hospital for treatment and is in stable condition.

A woman who identified herself as the victim’s family member told officers that an altercation occurred at a nearby business. During that altercation, a male suspect shot the victim one time in the head and fled the area.

The public is advised to avoid the area for the next few hours.
