Toddler in extremely critical condition after being pulled from inflatable Avondale pool

AVONDALE, AZ (AZFamily) — A 2-year-old boy is fighting for their life after being pulled from an inflatable pool at a West Valley home Friday afternoon.

It happened around 3:45 p.m. at a home near West Buckeye Road and South Avondale Boulevard. When officers arrived, police said the child was already out of the water.

Officers immediately began life-saving measures until firefighters arrived and took over.

The child was driven to a hospital and is in extremely critical condition.

Video from Arizona’s Family’s news helicopter showed officers in the backyard focusing on the inflatable pool.

Investigators are working to determine how the child ended up in the pool.

It’s unclear who was supposed to be watching the child.
