(Gray News) \u2014 Jenny Slatten, one of the stars of TLC\u2019s \u201c90 Day Fianc\u00e9\u201d franchise, has been diagnosed with ALS.<\/p>\n

Slatten shared her diagnosis in an Instagram post Tuesday morning.<\/p>\n

\u201cWith a heavy heart we wanted to share a news with all of you guys. That, there was a rumor that I had a stroke, but it turned out to be ALS,\u201d Slatten wrote.<\/p>\n

She continued, \u201cAt first, we tried to keep it private because it\u2019s been very emotional and overwhelming for us. We were hoping to find some kind of solution before speaking publicly. But after trying for some time, we feel like it\u2019s time to reach out.\u201d<\/p>\n

Slatten thanked her fans for their love and support and said she is \u201copen to any kind of help \u2014 treatments, clinical trials, lifestyle changes, or anything that could help treat this disease or slow down its progression.\u201d<\/p>\n

In a new interview with People, Slatten shared more details about her ALS diagnosis. She said she learned of her diagnosis in December, one year after she started showing symptoms.<\/p>\n

Slatten said her first symptom appeared in December 2024 when she choked while drinking water. She then had trouble swallowing pills and suffered migraines.<\/p>\n

She then started to notice her speech slowing, and she finally went to the doctor for an official diagnosis in December 2025.<\/p>\n

Slatten\u2019s father died of ALS more than a decade ago.<\/p>\n

Slatten, 68, lives in India with her husband Sumit Singh, 38. She is originally from California.<\/p>\n

The 30-year age gap in their relationship caused years of turmoil with Singh\u2019s parents, which was documented on the TLC show.<\/p>\n

Following her diagnosis, Slatten said she and Singh are both scared for what the future holds. She is exploring possible treatment options, though ALS does not have a cure.<\/p>\n

The couple plans to stay in India and \u201clive our life as we have been while we can,\u201d Slatten told People.<\/p>\n

The couple initially appeared on season one of \u201c90 Day Fianc\u00e9: The Other Way\u201d in 2019. After becoming fan favorites, the couple appeared on several follow-up seasons of the show.<\/p>\n

The couple will appear on season three of \u201c90 Day: The Last Resort,\u201d which premieres on TLC June 1.<\/p>\n
