TUCSON, Ariz. (13 News) – A game of \u201cSenior Assassin\u201d led to an investigation in Sahuarita on Tuesday, May 19.<\/p>\n

The Sahuarita Police Department said a student brought a toy gun to Anza Trail School.<\/p>\n

The game usually pits students against each other in an elimination-style format. The students use water or other toy guns to take out the competition with the hopes of being the last one standing.<\/p>\n

Tuesday\u2019s investigation began when a staff member saw the student with a gun, called 911, and said the eighth-grade boy had just graduated from the school.<\/p>\n

The staff member said the student then left campus.<\/p>\n

Officers found the student\u2019s parent, who told officers where he was located.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe investigation revealed the juvenile had brought an Orbeez-style toy as part of an end-of-the-year prank known as Senior Assassin,\u201d the SPD said in a release. \u201cAdditionally, officers located the toy gun and confirmed it was not an actual firearm and was not loaded with any sort of projectiles.\u201d<\/p>\n

The SPD said the boy didn\u2019t have any other weapons, and it was determined that there was no threat.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Sahuarita Police Department takes these types of reports very seriously and truly appreciates the community for reporting suspicious activity,\u201d the SPD said. \u201cWe are truly appreciative for the trust and relationship between SUSD, the community and the Sahuarita Police Department.\u201d<\/p>\n

Anyone with information about the case is asked to call 911, 520-351-4900, or 520-344-7000.<\/p>\n

As 13 News has reported, students have nearly died<\/b><\/u><\/i> or gone to jail over the game.<\/b><\/u><\/i> Tuesday\u2019s incident comes despite repeated warnings from law enforcement agencies across the country about the game.<\/p>\n
