CHANDLER, AZ (AZFamily)<\/b> \u2014 A 25-year-old Chandler man told police he had no regrets after allegedly stabbing his mother while she slept, according to court documents.<\/p>\n

Police arrested George Randall on suspicion of attempted first-degree murder and aggravated assault after the attack early Friday morning at a home near Elliot and Alma School roads.<\/p>\n

According to court documents, Randall told investigators he had been speaking with his mother about how he had been feeling recently. But he reportedly told police that she didn\u2019t console him or seem to care about his problems.<\/p>\n

Investigators say his mother later fell asleep in a living room recliner before he grabbed a kitchen knife and slashed the side of her neck. Family members woke up to the woman screaming and rushed into the room as Randall reportedly ran out the front door.<\/p>\n

Court documents say family members used a towel to try to stop the bleeding until authorities arrived. She was taken to a hospital in critical condition, but was stabilized following surgery.<\/p>\n

A family member confronted Randall outside as police arrived moments later.<\/p>\n

Following his arrest, Randall allegedly admitted to stabbing his mother and told investigators he wanted to kill her and didn\u2019t care if she died from her injuries. <\/p>\n

During interviews with detectives, Randall reportedly said his mother was always trying to get attention and that he had thought about stabbing her for the past few weeks. Documents say he also told officers, \u201cShe loved me and I stabbed her.\u201d<\/p>\n

Investigators say Randall initially claimed that a demon named \u201cBarricles\u201d told him to attack his mother. However, he later allegedly admitted he made that up because he hoped it would get him admitted to a psychiatric ward.<\/p>\n

Randall said he was surprised he did not feel bad about stabbing his mother and described the attack as \u201ceasy,\u201d according to police. <\/p>\n

He\u2019s jailed on a $1 million bond.<\/p>\n
