TUCSON, Ariz. (13 News) – The Pima County Sheriff\u2019s Department released new details about a crash that killed a pedestrian late Thursday, May 7.<\/p>\n

The crash happened near the intersection of Snyder and Sabino Canyon, which was shut down for several hours.<\/p>\n

The PCSD says a preliminary investigation indicates 51-year-old Mikhail Stepanov was waiting to cross within the crosswalk at the intersection when he was hit by the driver of a 2023 Ford F-150 pickup truck.<\/p>\n

Stepanov died at the hospital.<\/p>\n

The PCSD says the driver remained on scene. <\/p>\n

Detectives say neither speed nor impairment appear to be factors in the crash.<\/p>\n

This investigation remains ongoing.<\/p>\n
