PHOENIX (AZFamily)<\/b> \u2014 A Phoenix man is facing charges after he was accused of aiming a laser pointer at a police helicopter this week. <\/p>\n

Lauro Pena Vazquez was arrested overnight after police say he aimed a green laser toward a Phoenix Air Unit that was flying near 29th Street and Virginia Avenue around 11 p.m. Thursday.<\/p>\n

Officers in the helicopter watched the man who aimed the laser go into a home in the area, and police officers responded to that home. When police contacted a man and woman who owned the home, they were told the couple\u2019s adult son was also inside. <\/p>\n

Phoenix PD found the son, later identified as Vazquez, and detained him. After getting a search warrant, officers found a green laser in Vasquez\u2019s bedroom. <\/p>\n

Vazquez was booked on a felony charge of aiming a laser at an occupied aircraft. <\/p>\n
