(CNN) \u2014 Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has paused most vehicle stops following two fatal shootings involving agents in Maine and Texas, according to a source familiar with the guidance.<\/p>\n

The directive applies to ICE\u2019s Enforcement and Removal Operations division, which handles arrests and deportations of undocumented immigrants.<\/p>\n

Agents are being told to avoid initiating traffic stops and instead work with partner agencies when serving criminal warrants involving people in vehicles.<\/p>\n
