RENO, Nev. (KOLO) – A former Reno nurse has been given seven years in prison after being found guilty of possessing child sex abuse material.<\/p>\n

Ryan Horton will serve 15 years of parole after admitting to sending and receiving child sex abuse material.<\/p>\n

The DOJ says that between March and August of 2024, Horton used Kik to send and receive the images and videos depicting the sexual abuse of children. A search of his cell phone revealed over 5,000 images and videos of child sex abuse material, including children as young as toddlers engaged in sexually explicit conduct with adults.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe images shared by Mr. Horton exemplify the serious issue of child exploitation,\u201d said Special Agent in Charge Christopher S. Delzotto for the FBI Las Vegas Field Office. \u201cBy sharing and trading abusive images, his actions perpetuated a vicious cycle of harm. Horton possessed thousands of images and videos of child sexual abuse; much of it was particularly violent, even depicting the abuse of children as young as toddlers. We extend our gratitude to the dedicated members of the FBI\u2019s Northern Nevada Child Exploitation and Human Trafficking Task force and the U.S. Attorney\u2019s office for investigating these critical cases to hold dangerous child predators accountable.\u201d<\/p>\n
