{"id":325,"date":"2026-05-15T12:33:33","date_gmt":"2026-05-15T12:33:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/tucsonmovingreport.com\/?p=325"},"modified":"2026-05-15T12:33:33","modified_gmt":"2026-05-15T12:33:33","slug":"caught-on-camera-portion-of-roof-collapses-at-north-phoenix-strip-mall","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/tucsonmovingreport.com\/?p=325","title":{"rendered":"Caught on camera: Portion of roof collapses at north Phoenix strip mall"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<section>\n<p><b>PHOENIX (AZFamily)<\/b> \u2014 Terrifying moments in north Phoenix late Thursday morning when part of a building collapsed at a strip mall.<\/p>\n<p>Read more <a href=\"https:\/\/tucsonmovingreport.com\/?p=323\">Reduced bond rejected for man accused of killing wife in Waddell<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The roof came down just before noon on Cave Creek Road near Greenway Road, affecting a Latin American restaurant and a hookah lounge.<\/p>\n<p>Surveillance video from Twisted Swag, a business across the street, shows the roofline beginning to tremble before giving way and crashing to the ground in an instant.<\/p>\n<p>Debris from roof tiles and wooden support beams remained stretched across the sidewalk and entry area for several hours. Phoenix Fire blocked off the area to stabilize the building and ensure everyone got out safely.<\/p>\n<p>Two cars were damaged in the collapse. It sounds like two trucks crushing together, so I ran to the door and I noticed that the yellow car, the window was smashed,\u201d Todd said. \u201cI immediately grabbed my daughter and ran out the door.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s unclear what caused the collapse.<\/p>\n<div>\n<div>\n<blockquote>\n<p>Phoenix fire technical rescue personnel are on the scene of structural collapse near Greenway &amp; Cave Creek Rd.
