GLENDALE, AZ (AZFamily)<\/b> \u2014 A 15-year-old boy is facing charges after police said five people were shot Saturday night at Glendale\u2019s Westgate Entertainment District. <\/p>\n

Sgt. Bryan Hoskin said Monday that the Phoenix teen was with his family near the fountain near 91st and Glendale avenues around 9 p.m. when he saw some classmates.<\/p>\n

A heated argument and a fight broke out, and that\u2019s when the boy fired his gun multiple times, Hoskin said. Five people were shot, including the suspect\u2019s two sisters, one of whom was 8 years old.<\/p>\n

Four of the victims were in the group, while the fifth person was grazed by a bullet and not involved. <\/p>\n

\u201cNone of the injuries reported by any of the victims were considered life-threatening, and most of those involved were treated and released from the local hospitals,\u201d Hoskin said. <\/p>\n

Westgate was placed on lockdown while officers and SWAT members looked for the shooter. <\/p>\n

\u201cThe suspect was ultimately found hiding elsewhere within the plaza and was taken into custody without further incident,\u201d Hoskin said. <\/p>\n

The lockdown was lifted around 11 p.m. Two 9 mm shell casings and one .40-caliber shell casing were found at the scene, police said. <\/p>\n

The suspect was found with a 9 mm handgun and $850 in cash, police said. The suspect\u2019s name has not been released because he is under 18. <\/p>\n

Court documents said that during his interview with police, the suspect admitted to displaying roughly $800 in cash to taunt the other group. He claimed he only fired once after seeing the other group draw a gun, adding he acted in self-defense, court documents said. <\/p>\n

The boy said he illegally bought the gun from an unknown person at a park for $400 about a week earlier, police said. He said he was not aiming at anyone specifically and fired from the hip.<\/p>\n

He was booked into jail on charges of aggravated assault, endangerment and minor in possession of a firearm.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s unclear how he got the gun. Police said the shooting was an isolated incident and there is no threat to the public. <\/p>\n

Hoskin said investigators are still looking for more evidence about what happened. <\/p>\n

\u201cIf they have any videos or any information regarding this incident, they can please come forward and provide that to the Glendale Police Department,\u201d he said. <\/p>\n

Westgate Entertainment District officials in the following statement said the incident was not connected to any Westgate official events: <\/p>\n
