According to Metro Police, officers responded after a man called 911 reporting his roommate had been shot. Investigators say a verbal argument between Baines and her roommate escalated into a struggle over a firearm, which discharged, killing Baines.<\/p>\n<h2>Family disputes police account<\/h2>\n<p>Baines\u2019 daughters say they do not believe their mother\u2019s death was simply the result of a struggle. They say they believe it was the result of domestic violence.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI feel like she was getting ready to pull away, and he felt that, and he didn\u2019t like that. It was like if I can\u2019t have you, no one can,\u201d said Baines\u2019 daughter, De\u2019Ja Taylor.<\/p>\n<p>The family also said they learned of Baines\u2019 death through news reports before police had notified them. On Thursday, Metro Police confirmed that once their investigation is complete, they will send their findings to the district attorney\u2019s office for review.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are hoping that they gather all the information and put him away.
