TUCSON, Ariz. (13 News) – 151 days. <\/p>\n

That\u2019s how long it\u2019s been since Nancy Guthrie disappeared from her Catalina Foothills home. While there have been lots of leads – people to question, evidence to analyze, and tips to investigate – so far, there is no resolution.<\/p>\n

It has been an excruciating five months for the Guthrie family – and a frustrating stretch both for law enforcement and for a community waiting for answers. <\/p>\n

Today in an exclusive one-on-one interview, Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos told 13 News anchor Brooke Wagner the investigation is still very active. What *is happening right now? Leads are still coming in, and evidence is still under the microscope. <\/p>\n

\u201cEspecially when you throw in genealogy – now, you\u2019ve got… this may not be the bad guy, but this person might be the bad guy\u2019s relative three times over,\u201d said Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos, \u201cSo, that has to be broken down to see if this might be someone of interest to us.\u201d <\/p>\n

In the last week, there\u2019s also been international media coverage around \u201cnotes.\u201d Reporting on real notes, fake notes, red herrings. At 13 News, we have chosen not to broadcast other outlets\u2019 reporting on stories that can\u2019t be independently confirmed. This is not just a story – there is a family in our community at the center of this. Our own sources do not feel comfortable publicly validating or ruling out any notes received at this time. But for the family, every communication brings the possibility for hope.<\/p>\n

We heard directly from the family for the first time. When reached for comment, Savannah Guthrie told 13 News, \u201cIt is five months of agony and unending trauma for our family. There is not a moment that goes by that we aren\u2019t actively trying to find our mom. We thank the people of Tucson for holding her in their hearts, as well as both the FBI and the Pima County Sheriff\u2019s Office for their tireless work on behalf of our family. Bring her home.\u201d<\/p>\n
