TUCSON, Ariz. (13 News) – Wednesday marks five months since Nancy Guthrie, the 84-year-old mother of Today show host Savannah Guthrie, disappeared from her Catalina Foothills home. <\/p>\n

In the 151 days since, investigators have released suspect video, received notes sent to media outlets, and continued testing evidence. Here is a breakdown of where things stand.<\/p>\n

How it started<\/h2>\n

Guthrie was last seen on Jan. 31. When she did not show up for a church service with friends on Feb. 1, her family called police. On Feb. 2, the Pima County Sheriff\u2019s Department declared Guthrie missing and opened a criminal investigation.<\/p>\n

Notes sent to media<\/h2>\n

In the early weeks of the investigation, several notes were sent to media outlets. On Feb. 6, PCSD issued a statement: \u201cThe FBI and Pima County Sheriff\u2019s Department are aware of a new message regarding Nancy Guthrie. Investigators are actively inspecting the information provided in the message for its authenticity.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Guthrie family also responded to a note via social media. Savannah Guthrie posted on Instagram: \u201cWe received your message and we understand. We beg you now to return our mother to us so that we can celebrate with her. This is the only way that we can have peace. This is very valuable to us, and we will pay.\u201d<\/p>\n

Suspect video and description released<\/h2>\n

On Feb. 10, investigators released video of a suspect captured by Guthrie\u2019s Nest doorbell camera. Two days later, on Feb. 12, investigators described the suspect as a man approximately 5\u20329\u2033 or 5\u203210\u2033 with an average build. He is seen tampering with the camera and is wearing what appears to be dark clothing, gloves, and an Ozark Trail hiker backpack.<\/p>\n

Where things stand now<\/h2>\n

The last on-camera interview with Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos came on May 11 \u2014 the 100th day of the investigation. Nanos said there is a significant amount of evidence still being tested and that he is confident answers will come.<\/p>\n
