TUCSON, Ariz. (13 News) – The Pima County Sheriff\u2019s Department said emergency crews recovered a hiker\u2019s body from Sabino Canyon on Tuesday, June 30.<\/p>\n

The PCSD said deputies and Rural Metro responded to the Bear Canyon Trail after a 911 hang-up around 7:30 a.m.<\/p>\n

Deputies determined a hiker called 911 after locating a woman\u2019s body around 1 1\/2 miles from the trailhead. <\/p>\n

The PCSD said the 66-year-old woman was pronounced dead on the scene. Her name will not be released until her family is notified.<\/p>\n

The PCSD said the remote location required the use of the Pinal County Sheriff\u2019s Office helicopter to lift the body out.<\/p>\n

The Pima County Office of the Medical Examiner responded and will determine the cause and manner of death. <\/p>\n

It was the second hiker death the PCSD responded to in a week. On June 23, 75-year-old Robin Janes died on the Brown Mountain hiking trail<\/b><\/i>.<\/b><\/i><\/p>\n
