BEACHWOOD, Ohio (WOIO\/Gray News) \u2013 A toddler died after she was hit by a car while eating outside with family members at a restaurant in Ohio on Father\u2019s Day. <\/p>\n

Beachwood police said an 18-year-old was driving through the parking lot of a shopping center when she left the road, crossed a curb and went into the outdoor dining area of City Barbeque. <\/p>\n

Then the vehicle slammed into a 3-year-old girl. The young child was taken to the hospital, where she died from her injuries. <\/p>\n

It\u2019s unclear how fast the car was going when the toddler was hit, but a 911 caller said the car was going in reverse at the time. <\/p>\n

Beachwood police charged Jasmine McFadden, of Euclid, with aggravated vehicular homicide. According to court records, she was operating the vehicle without a license.<\/p>\n

Investigators also charged former Cleveland State basketball star Kenneth McFadden, 61, of Euclid. Police said he was seated in the front seat, but initially told officers he was the driver.<\/p>\n

McFadden was a standout basketball player at Cleveland State University in the 1980s, leading his team to the Sweet 16 in 1986.<\/p>\n
