TUCSON, Ariz. (13 News) – A woman died while hiking in Pima County on Tuesday, June 23.<\/p>\n

The Pima County Sheriff\u2019s Department said 75-year-old Robin Janes was on the Brown Mountain hiking trail when she had a medical issue around 11:40 a.m. She was airlifted to a local hospital, but died.<\/p>\n

The PCSD said Janes had been hiking with two family members for several hours before suffering from exhaustion and heat-related illness.<\/p>\n

Health experts warn parents about safety amid extreme heat warning<\/b><\/u><\/i><\/h3>\n

The Picture Rocks Fire Department and Arizona DPS assisted the PCSD\u2019s Parks Enforcement\/Search and Rescue Unit.<\/p>\n

The PCSD said Janes\u2019 family members did not need medical help.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Pima County Sheriff\u2019s Department reminds the public to exercise extreme caution when hiking during periods of excessive heat,\u201d the PCSD said in a release. \u201cAlways carry sufficient water, avoid hiking in the hottest parts of the day, and know your physical limits.\u201d<\/p>\n

According to the 13 News First Alert Weather Team,<\/b><\/u><\/i> there is an Extreme Heat Warning through Thursday, and we will see highs nearing 111 degrees.<\/p>\n
