TUCSON, Ariz. (13 News) – An employee at a Sonora Behavioral Health facility in Pima County has been arrested in connection with the death of a patient last year.<\/p>\n

The Pima County Sheriff\u2019s Department said 28-year-old Bryce Nolan Coleman turned himself in on a manslaughter charge on Monday, June 15.<\/p>\n

The PCSD said 44-year-old Bluesky D. Thomas was a patient at the facility, located at 6050 North Cornado Drive, when he died on Oct. 20, 2025. The death was suspicious, and an investigation was started.<\/p>\n

13 News has reached out to Sonora Behavioral Health for a statement, but the company has not responded as of 3 p.m. Tuesday.<\/p>\n

According to Thomas\u2019 autopsy report, he suffered several injuries that included multiple spine fractures, a liver laceration and soft tissue hemorrhage of the neck. He was also missing at least two teeth, had a tongue contusion, and scalp abrasions. The cause of death was blunt force injuries, and the manner of death was ruled a homicide.<\/p>\n

The report said Thomas became agitated and was given Haldol, Ativan, and Benadryl. During a fight with staff, he became unresponsive on the floor. He was taken to a hospital and died the next day.<\/p>\n

According to the toxicology report, Thomas had caffeine, Haldol (an antipsychotic medication), Olanzapine (another antipsychotic medication for schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, and depression), 9-hydroxyrisperidone (antipsychotic for schizophrenia), diphenhydramine (from the Benadryl), hydroxyzine (another antihistamine for anxiety, tension, allergic skin reactions, and itching), and lorazepam (from Ativan) in his system when he died.<\/p>\n

13 News has reported about problems at Sonoran Behavioral Health before, including patient deaths, lawsuits, and changes at the top of the organization.<\/p>\n
