TUCSON, Ariz. (13 News) – The Pima County Sheriff\u2019s Department released a statement on Thursday, June 11, the same day national outlets reported that an anonymous source claimed Nancy Guthrie was buried in an unmarked grave in Mexico.<\/p>\n

According to the New York Post<\/b><\/u><\/i>,<\/b><\/u><\/i><\/i>Buscando Corazones<\/b><\/u> said it received the tip on Wednesday.<\/p>\n

The group allegedly searched and found 25 unmarked graves, but did not find Guthrie, according to the New York Post.<\/p>\n

\u2014 Pima County Sheriff’s Department (@PimaSheriff) June 11, 2026<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

In the release, Sheriff Chris Nanos said that the PCSD is aware of the reports, but said the department has not been contacted by Mexican authorities.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis investigation remains active and ongoing, and we will continue to follow up on any credible information,\u201d Nanos said.<\/p>\n

MORE NANCY GUTHRIE COVERAGE<\/b><\/i><\/h3>\n

Guthrie went missing from her Catalina Foothills home on Feb. 1, 2026, sparking a large search and garnering international attention. The PCSD has said Guthrie was taken against her will, and her blood was found outside the home.<\/p>\n

As of June 11, authorities are still waiting on the results of DNA tests of some samples from inside her home. Experts have said the DNA is likely from several people, and it could take months for scientists to extract the DNA and check the results against databases.<\/p>\n

Even if they are able to identify the suspect\u2019s DNA, there is no guarantee the suspect has a criminal history of DNA on file in any of the systems.<\/p>\n

Despite thousands of hours of investigation and tens of thousands of tips, no suspect has been identified<\/p>\n

Anyone with information about the Guthrie case can call 1-800-CALL-FBI, 520-351-4900, or 88-CRIME.<\/p>\n

Guthrie\u2019s family has offered a $1 million reward for information that leads to her recovery.<\/b><\/u><\/i><\/p>\n

The FBI has offered a $100,000 reward, while a man in Milwaukee added to it with a private $100,000 reward.<\/b><\/u><\/i><\/p>\n

88-CRIME has already offered a reward of up to $100,000 for information leading to an arrest.<\/b><\/u><\/i><\/p>\n
