GOODYEAR, AZ (AZFamily)<\/b> \u2014 The wait is almost over \u2014 Buc-ee\u2019s is finally opening its first-ever Arizona location in Goodyear, with the big grand opening set for Monday, June 22.<\/p>\n

The travel center near Interstate 10 and Bullard Avenue will open to the public at 6 a.m., with a ribbon-cutting scheduled for 8 a.m., according to event details released by the company.<\/p>\n

Customers can line up as early as midnight, and Buc-ee\u2019s founder Arch \u201cBeaver\u201d Aplin III is expected to be there. If you\u2019re planning to go, be ready for crowds. The company is already telling visitors to plan for long lines.<\/p>\n

Before the doors open to everyone, Buc-ee\u2019s will host a \u201cFirst Responders Day\u201d on Friday, June 19. It won\u2019t be open to the general public; it\u2019s limited to police, fire, EMS and military, and ID will be required for entry. Buc-ee\u2019s says the day is meant as a thank-you to first responders, while also giving the store time for final touches and staff training.<\/p>\n

Goodyear is also giving drivers a heads-up: expect heavy, slow-moving traffic around the site and build in extra travel time. The city says opening day is expected to draw visitors from across Arizona and neighboring states. Business access will remain available along Bullard, including for businesses on the Buc-ee\u2019s traffic route.<\/p>\n

Buc-ee\u2019s, the Texas-based chain known for its beaver mascot, barbecue and supersized travel centers, is making its Arizona debut with the Goodyear store. With less than two weeks to go, the countdown is on.<\/p>\n
