YUMA, AZ (AZFamily)<\/b> \u2014 A Yuma doctor is facing three felony charges as part of an ongoing investigation by the Arizona Attorney General\u2019s Office.<\/p>\n

Authorities said Dr. Irfan Fazil was arrested and is being held at the Yuma County Detention Center on a $50 million bond.<\/p>\n

Patients were seen coming and going Wednesday at Bio Family Clinic, where Fazil practices. Witnesses said Tuesday the scene was different.<\/p>\n

Law enforcement activity reported at clinic<\/h2>\n

Witnesses posting on social media said Tuesday the clinic\u2019s parking lot was filled with law enforcement officers. Video shows agents going in and out of the medical practice.<\/p>\n

Investigators said Fazil was arrested on three felony charges of theft, illegal control of an enterprise and conspiracy involving fraudulent schemes.<\/p>\n

Patients express concern<\/h2>\n

Some patients said they were concerned about what the arrest could mean for their medical care.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m 52 years old and never in my life I\u2019ve experienced this, and I am a patient here,\u201d one patient said.<\/p>\n

Kamay Bowman said she is a patient at Bio Family Clinic and that Fazil has been her husband\u2019s doctor for four years.<\/p>\n

\u201cI don\u2019t know where I go from here. Do I get a primary? Do I stay with them? Where do I go from here? Because my husband goes here as well,\u201d Bowman said.<\/p>\n

Bowman said she came to the office after hearing about the arrest to get more information and decide how to proceed, since her husband has upcoming appointments.<\/p>\n

\u201cI don\u2019t want to be a part of criminal activity if that is what is going on,\u201d Bowman said.<\/p>\n

Online profiles still posted<\/h2>\n

Fazil\u2019s photo and profile were still posted online Wednesday, including on yumakidney.com and the Bio Family Clinic website.<\/p>\n

The website says he has been in private practice at Bio Family Clinic for more than 15 years and was voted top nephrologist in 2023 by America\u2019s Best Doctor Magazine.<\/p>\n

What\u2019s next<\/h2>\n

Fazil is expected to be arraigned in the coming days.<\/p>\n

The Arizona Attorney General\u2019s Office said the case is part of an ongoing investigation and it could not provide additional information at this time.<\/p>\n

Gray Media also reached out to Bio Family Clinic for comment but had not heard back as of publication.<\/p>\n
