TEMPE, AZ (AZFamily)<\/b> \u2014 Thousands of Arizona State University students can proudly call themselves Sun Devil alumni as they walk across the stage to receive their diplomas on Monday!<\/p>\n

Numerous ceremonies will be held throughout the day, including the large undergraduate commencement ceremony on Monday night at Mountain America Stadium. \u2018Star Wars\u2019 and \u2018Indiana Jones\u2019 actor Harrison Ford will deliver the commencement address and receive an honorary Doctor of Arts and Humane Letters degree.<\/p>\n

Roughly 22,000 graduate and undergraduate students will be receiving their degrees. Among those are Skylar Grayson, who received her PhD in Astrophysics, and Amber Catalan, who graduated with a Master\u2019s in Health Administration and Policy.<\/p>\n

Through countless hours of hard work, dedication and perseverance, both women were proud that they were finally walking across the stage. <\/p>\n

\u201cThis was a five-year degree, so to be finally reaching the end of it, it\u2019s kind of emotional and powerful. I\u2019m reflecting a lot about this process and all the things that I\u2019ve learned and things that I\u2019ve done here at ASU. So, it\u2019s really special, and I\u2019m just really grateful to be here,\u201d Grayson explained. <\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s amazing. You know, it\u2019s been so much work. I\u2019m glad to finally be done and enter the workforce and have fun and finally have more vacations and stuff like that,\u201d Catalan added.<\/p>\n

Catalan shared some advice for incoming students, including the importance of networking and developing organizational skills. <\/p>\n

\u201cI would say definitely stay organized, get to know your professors, and always keep a good mindset. It may seem hard, but you\u2019ll get used to it. Like, it gets easier,\u201d she said. <\/p>\n

For Grayson, the moment was not just a personal milestone, it was a message to others on the same journey.<\/p>\n

\u201cEveryone here, everyone who\u2019s done this is here because they worked really hard. It\u2019s not about coming in being a genius or having a certain background. Everyone has just put a lot into it,\u201d she explained. \u201cIf you keep working hard and holding onto the things you\u2019re passionate about, you\u2019re going to be here one day, too, and it\u2019s an amazing feeling.\u201d<\/p>\n
