(Gray News) – A longtime R&B singer best known for his Disney film songs has died.<\/p>\n

According to his family, the two-time Grammy winner Peabo Bryson died on Tuesday, surrounded by loved ones, just days after suffering a stroke.<\/p>\n

\u201cWith broken hearts and profound sadness, the family of two-time Grammy Award-winning singer, songwriter and balladeer, Peabo Bryson, announces his passing,\u201d the family said in a statement shared by Variety. \u201cHe transitioned peacefully.\u201d<\/p>\n

Bryson was known for singing duets, especially those featured in Disney films in the early 1990s.<\/p>\n

His performance with C\u00e9line Dion in the \u201cBeauty and the Beast\u201d title song was a massive hit. Then he and Regina Belle released \u201cA Whole New World\u201d for Disney\u2019s \u201cAladdin,\u201d which reached No. 1 on Billboard\u2019s list. <\/p>\n

Bryson was born in Greenville, South Carolina. A cause of death was not immediately released. <\/p>\n
