TUCSON, Ariz. (13 News) – The former Banner nurse who admitted to molesting an incapacitated patient reached a plea deal and was sentenced late last month.<\/p>\n

On Tuesday, June 2, 13 News confirmed that Jadd Gebrial Sarah pleaded guilty to one count of sexual abuse. <\/p>\n

On May 28, a judge sentenced Sarah to a month in prison, probation for three years, and 50 hours of community service. He will also have to register as a sex offender.<\/p>\n

Sarah was arrested in February 2026 on charges of sexual abuse, aggravated assault, and vulnerable adult abuse.<\/p>\n

According to the interim complaint, a nursing supervisor at Banner called 911 and said Sarah sexually assaulted a patient who had been hospitalized for seizures.<\/p>\n

Security video captured Sarah entering the victim\u2019s room while she was \u201cincapacitated by both her seizures and different medicines\u201d and then fondling her. Investigators said the victim \u201cappeared to have no ability to resist Sarah.\u201d<\/p>\n

The victim was able to talk with police afterwards and said Sarah touched her.<\/p>\n

The Tucson Police Department said Sarah admitted, \u201cthat he screwed up and he did not know why he did it and that it has never happened before.\u201d<\/p>\n

A Banner Health spokesperson sent the following statement to 13 News:<\/p>\n

\u201cAt Banner Health, we hold ourselves and every one of our team members to the highest standards of conduct and professionalism. Immediately upon learning of an incident that occurred at one of our facilities, we contacted law enforcement. The individual involved in the incident is no longer employed by Banner Health. We remain committed to ensuring a safe environment for every patient in our care.\u201d<\/p>\n

News of the plea deal came just days after Banner fired a behavioral health specialist after he was arrested on charges of sexual assault, sexual abuse, and kidnapping.<\/b><\/u><\/i><\/p>\n

Jose Jacobo Chavez was working at the Banner South Behavioral Health Unit when he allegedly sexually assaulted a patient. <\/p>\n

Chavez eventually admitted to having sexual contact with the victim, but claimed it was consensual.<\/p>\n
