GRAND CANYON (AZFamily)<\/b> \u2014 The family of an Arizona State University student who went missing at the Grand Canyon last month is sharing a timeline they believe could help investigators and potential witnesses further narrow search efforts.<\/p>\n

The family of Sandarsh Krishna says the last known time he was in his room at the Bright Angel Lodge was about 11 p.m. Monday, April 27. Krishna disappeared at the Grand Canyon a short time later.<\/p>\n

His family says he visited the national park on Monday, April 20, and planned to travel to Las Vegas afterward, then return to ASU for finals.<\/p>\n

They say the updated timeline suggests Sandarsh was likely in or near his room shortly before the estimated time of his disappearance \u2014 a detail they hope may help investigators more precisely reconstruct his movements and focus ongoing search operations.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis information may seem small, but timelines matter,\u201d said Dr. Pooja Shivananjappa, Sandarsh\u2019s sister-in-law. \u201cEven narrowing the window by minutes can help search teams and investigators better understand what happened.\u201d<\/p>\n

The family is also offering $5,000 for information leading to the identification of the person who found and turned in Sandarsh\u2019s backpack.<\/p>\n

The family doesn\u2019t believe the man is involved, but say identifying him could help fill an important gap in the timeline and potentially provide investigators with a more focused search area.<\/p>\n

Investigators have also previously said the person is not considered a suspect.<\/p>\n

Anyone who recognizes the person pictured or has information that could help with the investigation is asked to call or text the NPS ISB tip line at 888-653-0009.<\/p>\n
