TUCSON, Ariz. (13 News) – A behavioral health specialist at Banner South has been arrested on charges of sexual assault, sexual abuse, and kidnapping.<\/p>\n

Jose Jacob Chavez was arrested Sunday, May 31.<\/p>\n

The interim complaint shows a female patient at the Banner South Behavioral Health Unit reported Chavez came into her room at least ten times while she was in and out of sleep.<\/p>\n

The document shows Chavez \u201cbegan kissing her and groping her body, and told her she was going to get him into trouble.\u201d<\/p>\n

The document states the victim reported the last time Chavez came into her room, he told her to take her pants off. She did as she was told and Chavez sexually assaulted her.<\/p>\n

The victim reported she did not feel free to leave. She stated she \u201cfelt if she yelled for help, she would be sedated or restrained.\u201d<\/p>\n

She called her mother the next day to report what happened.<\/p>\n

The interim complaint states Banner security video showed Chavez entered her room 21 times during his shift.<\/p>\n

Chavez initially denied doing anything wrong, but ultimately admitted to sexual contact.<\/p>\n

The interim complaint states Chavez claimed the victim came onto him.<\/p>\n

Chavez made his initial court appearance Monday morning, June 1.<\/p>\n

The state asked for a bond of $75,000, which the judge set at $50,000.<\/p>\n

The attorney for Chavez argued for a bond of $25,000 for Chavez.<\/p>\n

He said Chavez lacks a criminal history, has a wife and three kids and is not a flight risk.<\/p>\n

His next court appearance is scheduled for June 11.<\/p>\n
