SCOTTSDALE, AZ (AZFamily)<\/b> \u2014 Newly released body camera and surveillance video show the moments Scottsdale police shot an armed woman inside a police station earlier this year.<\/p>\n

Police say Eva Garcia, 23, is facing multiple charges stemming from an April 30 incident at the Scottsdale Police Department\u2019s McKellips Station near McKellips and Miller roads.<\/p>\n

WARNING: Graphic video, viewer discretion is advised. <\/b><\/i><\/p>\n

Surveillance video from the lobby appears to show Garcia pointing a gun at a police aide working as a receptionist. <\/p>\n

The footage then shows her turning the weapon toward a bystander in the lobby and forcing him to his knees.<\/p>\n

An officer and a sergeant went to the front lobby and ordered Garcia to drop the gun. Video shows her aiming the weapon toward officers as it appeared to jam, and she tried again. <\/p>\n

\u201cDrop the gun, drop the gun,\u201d the sergeant said before firing four rounds at her. <\/p>\n

Stan Kephart, a former police chief in Arizona, went through the video frame by frame as the scene intensified. He said the act of walking into a police station with a weapon doesn\u2019t leave many logical explanations.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt looks like almost a suicide-by-cop attempt,\u201d Kephart said.<\/p>\n

He also believed she had some firearm training. <\/p>\n

\u201cThe manner in which she cleared the jam indicates that she knew what she was doing with a firearm,\u201d Kephart said. <\/p>\n

Garcia was taken to a hospital and treated before being booked on charges of attempted homicide, aggravated assault on a police officer, aggravated assault on an employee of a law enforcement agency, kidnapping and disorderly conduct.<\/p>\n

In a court appearance earlier this month, state prosecutors claimed Garcia\u2019s actions were due to a breakup the previous night.<\/p>\n

A judge set Garcia\u2019s bail at a $850,000 cash-only appearance bond, and she will have electronic monitoring if released. Her case has been sealed and remains ongoing.<\/p>\n
