TUCSON, Ariz. (13 News) – The man arrested in connection with a deadly shooting near Prudence and 22nd on Wednesday, July 17, 2024, has been convicted. <\/p>\n

Martin Cruz Garcia was found guilty on one count of first-degree murder on May 28, 2026. <\/p>\n

Garcia is scheduled to face sentencing on July 27. <\/p>\n

Back in 2024, officers responded to a gas station in the area and found Damian Bryan Quinones with a gunshot wound. Despite life-saving efforts, Quinones died at the scene.<\/p>\n

Quinones and Garcia were inside the gas station when an argument turned physical, according to the TPD.<\/p>\n

The TPD said when the men exited the store, another verbal confrontation took place.<\/p>\n

That\u2019s when police said Garcia pulled out a firearm and shot Quinones.<\/p>\n

Garcia left the scene but was taken into custody a short time later at a nearby home.<\/p>\n
